Asbury Park since late 1800 when it was founded was a vacationer's paradise, center for trade and more. Advertising and good old word of mouth made AP the destination. It wasn't just the Asbury Park Press. From New York to Florida and west, AP was advertised. Postcards and souvenirs also transmitted a message. Honeymooners came to AP.
