So
few people believe me when I tell the stories that I saw both
Bruce Springsteen and Kiss ( these were different concerts) at
the Sunshine Inn - where was that orange hole in the wall? - 3rd
or 4th Avenue?
Anyway, the Springsteen concert was unbelievable- this must have
been 1973, and he had released his 1st Album and was receiving
raves- I was with my brother and 1st cousin ( they can always
vouch for me!!!), and like Dave Marsh ( Rolling Stone) said,
....I have seen the future of rock and roll... what
an awesome show.....We just knew he was going to go big time
It may have been the same year, but I went with some high school
friends ( OTHS) and saw Kiss- also around the time they released
their 1st album- They were loud and rocked!!!! I remember
the fire engine lights on-stage when they played
"Firehouse"
I can't remember for sure, but I think the popular band at the
time "Renaissance" may have opened for Kiss
...and probably after the concert we went to the great
cheesesteak place just north of the mediocre L & M Diner on
the Asbury Circle called "Steak Spot"- actually
it was just north of Sunset on Hwy 35- Well, that's taking
us a mile west of Asbury but those were the best cheesesteaks
I've ever eaten
