This time - it is real. The City is on the right track and have secured redevelopers for the Oceanfront and crumbling Boardwalk buildings. 

In addition to the boardwalk redevelopment, many other individuals have been buying homes and stores in the City of Asbury Park and bringing the homes and business community back to life -once again creating a sense of neighborhood.

We originally began these words in 1999. Progress has been slow, but it is progressing.

The Master Developers for the 56 Acre project is known as Asbury Partners, LLC. They in turn, have courted sub-developers to do the actual buildout. In 2006, Partners engaged a Retail Consulting Group, Madison Marquette to assist in the development and marketing of the estiamted 450,000 sq ft of retail envisioned in the plan.

My daughter, 12 (in 2002), after reviewing the plans - "...wow,,it will be the coolest place in the country...I can't wait..." Tick-tock.....

Hopefully, her kids won't be updating this page when I'm long gone.

 30+ years is a long time to wait.
