The
Asbury
Park Rock and Roll Museum
belongs here in Asbury Park. We started out
around 2001 looking to compile a list of all the great artists that played in
Asbury Park - The Convention Hall, The Casino, The Paramount and all the old
clubs - most of which are long gone. Except the Stone Pony now on it's 3rd
life. Here are some pictures
of sent in by the Museum's original creator/partner, Billy Smith. We have many
more that will be added so that we some sort of Asbury Music History on the web.
If you have a great story (any story) or old photos of some of these great
events, send it in: apboardwalk@gmail.com

Wofgang's Vault contains one of the
largest collections of music memorbilla from Bill Grahm. There are some
original Bruce Springsteen posters tickets and more. There are also some
recordings from The Stone Pony and Convention Hall that have been uncovered.
The vast majority of material in Wolfgang's Vault
comes from the exquisitely preserved, original archives of Bill Graham
Presents.. Beginning with the seminal concerts of the mid 1960s and continuing
through today, there is a superb collection that is being cared for in
state-of-the-art facilities.
They have only begun to mine the depths of the
Vault. They opened in October 2003 with a collection of Poster Art and added
an extraordinary selection of vintage t-shirts, backstage passes, laminates and books
shortly thereafter. In 2004 was the release of the BG Archive photography collection,
and since have become the exclusive online source for five of the
greatest rock photographers of all time: Jim Marshall, Baron Wolman, Michael Zagaris, Joe Sia
and Gene Anthony. Click on the banner below to go to Wolfgang's Vault and
begin exploring some of music's greatest history, including Bruce
Springsteen. |
